Övernaturliga fenomen - del 1

Många gånger begär människan ett tecken för att tro på Gud, men frågan är om inte tillräckligt många sådana tecken redan har visat sig runtom i världen i alla tider. Hur ska vi förklara övernaturliga fenomen när forskare, vetenskapsmän och läkare handfallna tvingas konstatera att de inte har en förklaring till det hela?

Detta är första delen av en serie övernaturliga händelser jag tänkt skriva om på bloggen. Jag överlåter sedan grubblandet åt läsaren att antingen tro på det hela eller inte.

Clearwater i Florida 1998.

En regnbågsfärgad bild av Jesu mor, jungfru Maria som sträcker sig över två våningar på en finansbyggnad av svart glas i Clearwater, södra Florida, USA. Polisen uppskattar att cirka 1.5 millioner människor hittills har strömmat till för att knäböja och be framför Mariabilden. Många besökare som sett bilden säger sig uppleva att: "det är som att vara i en ängels armar". Michael Kaizmanich som äger byggnaden tror att bilden är en gåva från Gud som måste beskyddas och hållas tillgänglig för alla. Intresset för bilden blev så stor att det placerades ut bänkar för meditation på platsen. Bilden av Maria har blivit utsatt för vandalism vid ett flertal tillfällen. Någon försökte i maj 1997 en okänd vätska på glasrutorna för att försöka förstöra bilden. Men en månad efter händelsen drabbas området av svår storm och på något sätt försvann då denna vätska och bilden av Maria kunde återigen ses som den var innan. Vid ett annat tillfälle sköts någon form av gummikulor mot fönstret som förstörde huvudbilden. Polisen fann också kulorna i närheten av glasbyggnaden. Efter denna händelse kvarstod Marias bild på byggnaden, dock utan huvudpartiet som skadats av vandaliseringen.

It was first spotted on December 17, 1996, by a woman customer at what was then the Seminole Finance Corporation Building. As one newspaper noted, the image, two floors high, glowed and shimmered, turning from green to blue, to red, and there was a distinct outline of a head, a hooded robe and most of a torso. Skeptics claimed it was caused by a reflection of the sun's rays bouncing off water left by sprinklers, but that hardly explained how its glow often increased at night it went dark just before September 11. George Pecoraro, a scientist with a glass company, told a newspaper that "we're not able to explain how the shape appeared or why it appeared. It could be an accident or maybe it's Divine intervention." Most mysterious was how the image continued without interruption over the span of at least nine separate panes of glass. More than 1.5 million have visited and the original owner, Mike Krizmanich, allowed them to install what has become a permanent shrine, believing the image is "a gift from God to be protected and shared."

In the past few weeks, over 250,000 people visited the Virgin Mary on Highway 19 north and Drew Street in Clearwater Florida . This number is rapidly climbing. Visitors are coming from all over the world to see what many people call a vision. A lot of skeptical people call it a hoax and others call it unusual. Well I decide to see it for myself and being a local resident it was easy.

So I packed up my family and drove to the location and I must say I was astonished. There were 5,000 plus people there a week before Cristmas. It was very quiet considering the size of the crowd. There were over 500 candles lit with little notes or scriptures to the Virgin Mary. Some asked for help, others for forgiveness and others asked for world peace. A lot of people were praying. Many were crying. Hundreds of rosary beads lined the walls where the candles and messages were. I must say I was truly amazed and inspired at the sight. Once I saw Her, it didn't matter whether it was real or fake any more. I felt a total calm from within. As far as I was concerned, it served its purpose and it couldn't have been discovered at a better time. What better way to remind people of the true meaning of Christmas then to have a vision like this. It inspired me and I know a lot of people there had the same feeling.
